Hi, I’m Hailey—the stylist, owner, and creative heart behind Kait David Salon. I like to say I was raised in Louisiana but rooted in California—two places that shaped me in unique ways. Outside of the salon you’ll find me putting healthy twists on Cajun family recipes, diving into psychology and spirituality books and podcasts, journaling, and spending time with my husband, toddler, and three cats. As a homebody at heart, I’m happiest with blackout curtains, a cozy blanket, and a great Netflix series.

My love for all things hair and beauty started young—like 8 years old, experimenting with my grandma’s curling iron and playing with her makeup stash. By high school, I was the girl spending weekends at beauty supply stores, dyeing my hair bold colors without a clue what I was doing—but loving every second of it. At 17, right after graduation, I decided to give cosmetology school a shot—and I’ve never looked back.

My career began in Orange County, working in a high-end salon where I completed an extensive advanced education program that sharpened my skills and deepened my passion for hair.

After six years as an employee, I knew it was time to design my own path. In 2020, I opened Kait David Salon in Southern California as a solo endeavor, creating a space where my clients could feel at home. Life brought my family to Iowa, and now I’ve relaunched Kait David Salon here in Johnston. My mission remains the same: to create a relaxing, welcoming space where you can unwind and leave feeling amazing inside and out.

I specialize in seamless dimensional color, grey blending, and precision cuts, working with all hair textures and welcoming all people—no matter your background or walk of life.
